ABOUT US
Mother’s Choice is a non-profit organization, based in Atlanta, Georgia that specializes in the social and academic development of today’s young leaders. Since it’s founding in 2004 by current CEO Nichole Richardson, MCLC has been at the forefront in the community providing resources, advice, financial support and comfort to many families in need.
Our primary focus is to offer quality childcare, educational assistance and extracurricular activities for children 17 and under while their parents are at work. Over the years we have helped many families from all walks of life and given back to the community in many ways. We have been a part of many raisers for other organizations and participated in many drives.
In 2005, Mother’s Choice along with the Centerville Community Center located in Gwinnett County Georgia co-sponsored “Friday Night Live”, a community based initiative that catered to youths ages 10-17. This program allowed kids to show case their talents in such areas like arts and craft, music, drama and reading. In 2006 MCLC team up with Kroger and other businesses to provide 100 toys to the children at the Decatur DFACS office in Clifton Springs and 50 turkeys to families at the DFACS office which services the South Fulton county area. Directly MCLC is responsible for providing resources and financial support to eight local families. And each year we sponsor back to school drives that help to provided supplies for over 100 kids.
Represented by a five member board, MCLC have develop working relationships with such groups like the Gwinnett Coalition, The NAACP Atlanta Chapter, Hands on Atlanta, and Pearson Education just to name a few. In addition to these groups of supporters we have developed and maintained working relationships with such sponsors as Sam’s Club, Wal- Mart Foundation, School Box, Costco, Party City, Stene Energy, Kroger and others, have played a huge roll in our continued efforts to remain previlant in the community.
For the future, Mother’s Choice has begun a campain to construct a state of the art educational facility that is intended to provide quality low cost child care services for children ages 6wks to 5yrs old, along with after school and extracuricular activities for youths 6yrs and older. Our goal is to constanly provide an outlet for the community’s youth so they can learn, play and grow. But there is a lot to be done and we are just getting started.
